Panagis Vallianos was born in 1814 at Keramies in Kefalonia. Since he was young he was occupied with commerce first in Argostoli and later in Zakynthos.
The Crymean War brought him high financial prosperity. In 1858 he moved and settled in London, where he developed new business activities in commerce and banking, which continue to flourish for many years.
Vallianos died in London in 1902, but he appointed to Kefalonia a huge amount of money, that benefited the local development. His beneficial activitieshowever weren't cut down only here, if we think that the construction of the National Library of Greece(at Panepistimiou street ,Athens)was fund by him.
